Manchester, NH — The Northeast Transition Initiative (NETI) Fellowship Program’s 3rd Cohort kicked off with an in-person event last week, bringing together a diverse group of business experts representing organizations from across New England and New York.

The fellowship is made up of regional business advisors that are passionate about addressing a critical issue impacting our communities today: A large number of small business owners are reaching retirement age without a succession plan, posing a threat to businesses, jobs, and growth in communities. A wave of aging baby boomer business owners are looking to transition but don’t understand the process or their options and don’t know where to turn for help.

During the two-day event, fellows had the opportunity to learn more about how to support small businesses in succession or exit planning, including employee ownership transitions, a proven strategy to preserve businesses and jobs and provide wealth building opportunities for workers who are often left behind.

Watch the video above to hear from Cohort 3 about why they decided to join the 9-month-long NETI Fellowship Program and what kind of impact they are hoping to make in their local communities.
